Negative Space Still Life Project
This artwork is a Negative Space Still Life. I created this artwork by looking at a still life and only drawing the negative spaces. The negative spaces in this artwork are spaces that have color or a flower in them. The techniques I used in this artwork were to keep the proportion and to have neat drawings and the way I colored the negative spaces. The materials I used during this project were colored pencils, a ruler, a pencil, and a sharpie. The elements I used in this artwork are symmetrical balance, the unity of color, color contrast, and rows of pattern. I used color contrast by putting a warm color (orange) with cool colors. I also used unity of color because the green or the orange pulls your attention to it and the since there's all cool colors and one warm color the orange pops. During this project I learned the difference between negative and positive spaces and how to used them. In my future projects I will know how to draw negative and positive spaces.
